ABOUT THE COURSE

The broad aim of this Course is to introduce you to the new discipline of sustainable energy management and some of the issues and techniques involved in it.

The course is designed for Graduate students and practitioners to introduce them to the global energy aspects in terms of traditional oil & gas production to renewable sources, investigating the economics and environmental issues and presenting a sustainable solutions and critical and creative thinking

Course Description

This multidisciplinary course provides an introduction to the field of energy studies by examining a number of current international issues related to energy and its use. It aims to investigate and debate how we currently produce and use energy in our society and some of the economic, technical, social and environmental issues this raises. After laying a framework for understanding energy from scientific and social perspectives the unit will look at a number of topical energy related issues. Issues will be discussed from different points of view as represented by community, industry and academic leaders who are actively engaged in addressing the issue.
